About

Hi, I’m Alex Imparato, a drummer from South Wales and founder of The Long Weekend, a busy and in-demand wedding and corporate band performing all over the UK. I’ve been passionate about music since I was 13, starting with lessons at Percussion House in Cardiff. Over the years, I’ve explored everything from rock to hip-hop, music production, and live performance, always driven by a love for rhythm and creating music.

Drum Kits

My kit of choice is the Sonor SQ-2 in a sleek GT matte black finish — an incredible setup with a full range of sizes (22”, 20”, 16”, 14”, 12”, and 10”). It delivers power, precision, and versatility for any style of playing. I also use a Roland VAD electronic kit, giving me the flexibility to play and record with authentic feel and modern convenience.

Snare Drums

I play a Craviotto 14” x 6.5” Limited Edition 2009 Cherry (no. 108/205), a stunning drum with warmth and character. Alongside it, I use a Craviotto Solitaire 14” x 5.5”, and the Benny Greb 13” x 5.75” Brass Signature Snare, each offering their own unique voice and versatility.

Cymbals

I’ve always played Zildjian cymbals — they’ve been my sound since I was a kid. My setup features the K Custom Ride and K Hi-Hats, with a 17” Crash and 19” Crash for dynamic accents. I also bring in an EFX cymbal from time to time for extra texture and character, giving me a versatile palette that works across any style.
